No party would be complete without delicious beverages and amazing food for your guests to snack on. But rather than spending a small fortune buying food and drinks, how about quickly whipping some up yourself? You’ll save time, money, and they’ll be a lot tastier than anything you’ll find in the store.

Beautiful Beverages

Like all parties, a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks is a must. But to really impress your guests you need stunning drinks that look fantastic and taste even better.

Smoothies are a great non-alcoholic alternative, and the perfect summer treat.  How about a peach smoothie? Simply blend two cups each of water and cashews, along with a cup of frozen raspberries, a cup of frozen peaches, a bit of agave nectar, a good shot of vanilla, and a few ice cubes.

Is it a winter hot tub party? If so, some gourmet hot chocolate may be in order. Make the hot chocolate and top it off with a tasty garnish such as marshmallows, caramel or raspberry sauce, icing sugar, or cinnamon. Want to get really fancy? Top each mug off with whip cream and set some fancy chocolate curls or shapes into the top.

Need some ideas for garnishes? Try cucumber, lemon and/or lime curls. You could add a sprig of peppermint leaf, or top each drink with a drizzle of chocolate, a dollop of whip cream, and maybe even some butterscotch syrup.

Appetizers to Whet Their Appetites

Your guests will need something they can nibble on without filling their hands (or the hot tub) with food. It should also be something that keeps their hands relatively clean.

Fruit and vegetable trays with simple dips are a great start that should suit everyone’s tastes. You can also make trays filled with various crackers, cheeses, meats, and little extras such as olives. Peperoni or meat sticks cut into bite-sized pieces are great too.

Meatballs are often an ideal solution, and provide some variety. Make a large batch, pierce each one with a toothpick, and then coat them in different sauces– garlic and Italian herb, sweet and sour, teriyaki, barbeque, hot & spicy, or anything else you can find and/or make.

Want something other than beef? Cube boneless, skinless chicken breasts, coat the pieces with Shake ‘n Bake (or spices you’ve mixed up yourself), pierce each one with a toothpick, and bake.

Meals Fit for a Hot Tub Gathering

Nothing chases away winter and welcomes spring like a barbeque, so why not have one at your spring or summer hot tub party? And if you’re brightening up your winter with a little hot tub fun, try a feel-good meal like stew, soup, shepherds pie, or something on the spicy side.

Whatever food you’re having, remember the rule about water and eating. Your guests won’t feel much like jumping in the water if they’ve overeaten.

A hot tub party should never be too much work. And now, armed with these quick and simple recipes, you can quickly prepare for your amazing evening and get on with the fun!
